dog sitting

Shannon got asked to go stay at a friends house and dog sit. So while Shannon was at work, i kept the dogs company. All four dogs and I cuddled and watched two movies on netflix.
They are the greatest little things, and oh how i've missed you t.v!

Rolley Polley a.k.a Otis (i think that's his name, i'm not quite sure what any of their names are) is my favorite. His tongue is permanently stuck to the side of his mouth and he has rolls from here to Mexico all over his chubby little body.

Woof. Woof.
Meow.

displeased

I don't know what's more depressing. That fact that I have eaten a whole pound of pretzels in 4 days, or the fact that I can't go to the Joshua Radin concert due to tickets being overpriced. Okay that's lie. Tickets to go see Joshua Radin could never be over priced, but i don't have a job yet, therefore i can't spend money on recreational activities.

boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

like the title of this post says: i.am.very.displeased.

okay now I'm done ranting.
forgive me.

Just because i would rather not write it all again, go here to read/watch my day yesterday.

All i will say is I'm pretty sure i was the only Mormon holding up her water glass cheering while everyone else held their alcoholic beverages.
And i loved every seconed of it.
Isn't being sober watching drunk people make a fool out of themselves the greatest?

a choice

Today while Shannon was at work I walked around to try and become more acquainted with this thriving metropolis. After I downed my first delicious Pinkberry and had few very lovely phone calls from friends and family back home, I made my way uptown to borders on Park and 58th street. I ended up walking the wrong direction after coming out of the subway (which happens often) and bumped into Bloomingdales. Immediately I became ten folds happier. Not because of the store (barf please louis vuitton bags) but because the quote from my favorite character Kathleen Kelly in You've Got Mail kept running through my mind.

"Once I read a story about a butterfly in the subway, and today, I saw one! It got on at 42nd and off at 59th, where, I assume, it was going to Bloomingdales to buy a hat that will turn out to be a mistake, as almost all hats are."

This is going to sound completely cheesy but bare with me.
I made the choice a long time ago to be happy. Happy even when life has thrown a trial my way. Happy even through unwanted but needed change. I don't think i could make it through life being upset or angry all the time. I feel like my life would be colorless if i couldn't see the simple joys in it that make me so happy. I am so grateful for that ability.
You've got mail was my happy today and so i thank you Meg Ryan.
Okay phewww you made it. I hope i didn't scare you away from reading any further posts. I will try to keep the cheesy-ness from now on to a minimum.

Video Documents

This thing might have happened called, Shannon and I started a blog together.
I know i know kind of cheesy right?
Don't judge, it just happened.
It's a video blog.
It's going to document our days together here.
We feel as if this is a good way for us to remember our adventure in New York.

Oh and what an adventure it is going to be.

If you would like to come along with us on our escapade,

Nassau Ave.

I Don't Like:

-When I forget to bring hand sanitizer with me whenever i am traveling via subway
-When I swipe my metro card and it says go so i go and it turns out it was playing a joke on me so i slam into the metal thingy. (this happens at least once every day)
-When I get stuck in the subway doors.

I Do Like:

-Dancing while waiting for the subway to come.
-Listening to the black girls gossip on the subway and talk about how good they look.
-That the subway is literally a walking catalog. I have already decided my next 5 purchases thanks to the subway models (aka any adorable new yorker who rides one the G train or the L train when i do)

p.s.
Me and Shannon have decided to make a video blog to document our time spent here in new york together. I shall post more info tomorrow.

This city makes me want to be a better person. I think there are only two words that seems appropriate to describe how I feel right now.
I crave.
I crave the gospel more than ever. When I am in the city and temptation is all around me, I want to be home reading my scriptures, or in church listening to a uplifting talk. I wish church was everyday. What a great way to start your day. It's amazing how much more i appreciate it now that I am out here on my own.

Since it was Sunday yesterday me and shannon decided to stay in.
What do you do in nyc in a small apartment with no tv and no friends??
Play with your cat or play a few rounds of uno.
Occasionally we find a cat or two in the fridge.

Loving my time here in the big city.
You would think with so much to do here I would have already blogged 12 times.
I promise to be better at it.

We made it.
And its complete bliss.

Just got back from walking all over Brooklyn and loving my life. I had jitters the whole time.
Right now the man who lives above us is playing the saxophone and i feel like I'm in a movie.

Going to the big city tonight.
Will document proof.

Until then:

i know you've thought it before don't lie

I know I know.
Lets get it out in the open so it's not awkward and just talk about it...

I look like i'm twelve.
I've been in college for a year and a half and i still get asked how high school is treating me. In fact just the other day i had a guy ask me if i was old enough to drive yet. Thank you ladies and gentlemen I am a 19 year old who looks like she can't even date yet.
But, I've come to terms with this fact and I am moving on.

Okay, now that we have that over with i would like to now become one of those annoying people on facebook that update their staus every second of the day counting down to when their big news is happening.
I woke up early (before 9 is a big deal for me) and couldn't go back to sleep due to the fact that:

In 14 hours i will be on a plane flying to my new home of Brooklyn, NY.
just sayin.
It's a weird feeling i am having.
All i'm sayin is Faith people.
(breath in breath out madi)

*below are pictures of the 12 year old's fabulous party her family threw for her.
highlights:
-the slide-show that the other missy made for me
-"our band is named after jessica's body"
- the little sail boats with me and shannon's faces on them
-dominating at twister & funglish
-and the delicious farr's ice cream

lovely logan

I am completely overwhelmed with love today. Me and shannon threw ourselves a going away party and i can't put into words the love i feel for the people i've met since moving up to utah state. Logan has been a place of pure bliss and i have grown more in the year and a half of living up there, than i have in my entire life. I not ready to leave everyone i have grown to love in logan but i am completely ready to take on New York City.

Thank you lovely people of Logan. I will never be the same because of you.

There were lots of tears last night but..

Like a one way ticket moving.
Picking up my life and bringing it to the opposite end of the country moving.

And you think i would be packed and all ready to go.. am I?
